Practice Policies
Summer Swim Team Behavior.
We expect our swimmers to behave in a manner that is conducive to all swimmers learning. This includes: following instructions; having a positive attitude; being respectful to coaches, and other swimmers; practicing proper pool safety techniques; and not using profanity.
Unacceptable Behaviors:
The following behaviors will result in consequences based on the flow chart below:
• Defiance (not following coach’s instructions)
• Profanity (inappropriate language)
• Bullying (verbal, physical, or social exclusion)
• Horseplay (pushing, dunking, or rough play in the water)
• Not Practicing Pool Safety (running on deck, ignoring lifeguard/coach warnings)
• Disrespect Toward Coaches or Teammates
• Disrupting Practice (yelling, not paying attention, distracting others)
Consequence
1st Offense
Verbal Warning
2nd Offense
Verbal Warning + Asked to vacate the pool for a short period during practice
3rd Offense
Removed from the pool for the remainder of practice + Parent contact
4th Offense
Meeting with coach and parent + Potential removal from the team
