Last Day of City Meet
We had a great second day of City Meet. We had very minimal DQs, and so many of our swimmers dropped time. We would also like to thank all of our volunteers who worked today. We have just one more day left of City Meet, followed by our end-of-season banquet on Monday. Here are a few reminders as we close out the 2026 Season.
* We got information for City Meet. Our team will be sitting in the same area as last year. We are campground #7 on the map that is attached below. You can go to St. Mary's to set up at 12:00 PM on Friday. There isn't any natural shade or seating in our seating area, so bring your canopies, umbrellas, blankets, and chairs. You can leave your items in our area the whole weekend, but you do so at your own risk.
* We ask that swimmers on Saturday and Sunday arrive at 7:00 AM with warmups at 7:50 AM. The meet is usually over with by 2:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. If your child needs a ride, please let a coach or team rep know ASAP so we can figure out a ride for them.
* We have filled up all the volunteer shifts. Thank you so much, Breaker parents and families, for helping us do that. For your volunteer shift, you meet at the volunteer table, which is on the South end of the pool, underneath the scoreboard. There will be somebody from our team to help organize you and take you to your spot. If you are volunteering with the strokes of IM, Fly, and Breast, when you check in, please state your name and that you are from Brookside West. In the document linked below it shows all the volunteer positions that you are signed up for and what time to report to the volunteer desk by. Please make sure if you are volunteering for the strokes of Back and Free/Relay, you replace the person who is in that position before you. So if you are Marshal #2 for Back, you will replace the person who is Marshal #2 for Fly. Our team's Reps will help facilitate this. Please also make sure you do not leave your volunteer position until you are relieved. If you leave early, you can cost the team a 100-point deduction.
* There are a few rules at City Meet that must be followed, or else the team could face point deductions and the violator could be removed from the meet. There is no taking photos or videos from behind swimmers when they start their race. This is for privacy purposes. If you want to get a video or photo of your swimmer swimming, you need to go to the side of the pool to take it. There is no camping out in the bleachers by the pool. That is a spectator's area only. Also, no standing or stopping in the walkway below the bleachers. There is also no parking in unmarked spots. The school will have your vehicle towed at your expense if you park in an unmarked spot. No noisemakers are allowed. Also, no profanity.
* Also, as in years past, the team will have waters and snow cones for the swimmers at City Meet. There will be a snack bar, a couple of food trucks, and merchandise for purchase at the meet. Also, please bring water and sunscreen for your swimmer and family, as it will be in the nineties this weekend. We would love to have a team breakfast table, so if you are interested in bringing some food items, you can sign up at the link below.

* If it is your first year on the team, we usually do dress up days for City Meet to help show off our team spirit. Sunday will be a green-out day. We hope to see you all dressed up.
* As stated earlier, our end-of-the-year party will be Monday, July 13th at 6:00 PM. There will be food, swimming, games, awards, a slideshow, and a movie. We will be watching the Disney movie Teen Beach Movie, which is rated G. I have linked the trailer to the movie below. If you have any pictures that you would like to be included in the end-of-the-year slide show, please send them to Coach Kaden at (209) 659-3801. The team will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, cake, and drinks. We ask that Breaker families bring sides like fruit, salad, or chips to help out at the party. You can sign up at the linked document below. Also, please reach out to Coach Kaden if you would like to participate in the Coaches vs. Parents vs Swimmers relay at the end-of-the-year party.
We only have a few more days left of the 2026 swim season, so let's have fun and finish with a slam! If you have any questions, please reach out to the coaches or team reps.
As always,
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BREAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
