City Meet is Tomorrow!!!
City Meet starts tomorrow. This is some important updates, so please read whole email.
* We got information for City Meet. Our team will be sitting in the same area as last year. We are campground #7 on the map that is attached below. You can go to St. Mary's to set up at 12:00 PM on Friday. There isn't any natural shade or seating in our seating area, so bring your canopies, umbrellas, blankets, and chairs. You can leave your items in our area the whole weekend, but you do it at your own risk.
* We ask that swimmers on Friday doing the IM get to St. Mary's by 4:00 PM. We have warm ups at 4:15 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, we ask for the swimmer to arrive at 7:00 AM with warmups at 7:50 AM. Bittie Breakers only swim on Saturday morning, so make sure they are there by 8:00 AM. The Bittie Breakers will be swimming at 8:30 AM. The meet is usually over with by 8:00 PM on Friday and 2:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. If your child needs a ride, please let a coach or team rep know ASAP so we can figure out a ride for them.
* We have filled up all the volunteer shifts. Thank you so much Breaker parents and families with helping us do that. For your volunteer shift you meet at the volunteer table which is on the South end of the pool by underneath the scoreboard. There will be somebody from our team to help organize you and take you to your spot. If you are volunteering with the strokes of IM, Fly, and Breast, when you check in please state your name and that your are from Brookside West. In the document linked below it shows all the volunteer positions of what you are signed up for and what time to report to the volunteer desk by. Please make sure if you volunteering for the strokes of Back and Free/Relay that you replace the person who is in that position before you. So if you are Marshal #2 for Back, you will replace who is Marshal #2 for Fly. Our team's Reps will help facilitate this. Please also make sure you do not leave your volunteer position until you are relieved. If you leave early, you can cost the team a 100 point deduction.
* There is a few rules at City Meet that must be followed or else the team could face point deductions and the violator could be removed from the meet. There is no taking photos or videos from behind swimmers when they start for their race. This is for privacy purposes. If you want to get a video or photo of your swimmer swimming, you need to go to the side of the pool to take it. There is no camping out in the bleachers by the pool. That is a spectating area only. Also no standing and stopping in the walkway below the bleachers. There is also no parking in unmarked spots. The school will have your vehicle towed at your expense if you park in an unmarked spot. No noisemakers are allowed. Also no profanity.
* There will be no practice on Friday Morning, but there will be a friend of the team who will be doing air brush tattoos for the swimmers at a price of about $10 to $15 (Depending on the tattoo size you get). She takes cash, card, or Venmo. There will also be an activity to make and decorate clips to clip, give to other teams, at City Meet. If you have clothespin clips or art supplies, feel free to bring them for the activity at your own risk.
* Also as like in years past, the team will have waters and snow cones for the swimmers at City Meet. There will be a snack bar, a couple of food trucks, and merchandise for purchase at the meet. Also please bring water and sunscreen for your swimmer and family as it will be in the ninties this weekend. We would love to have a team breakfast table, so if you are interested in bringing some food items you can signup at the link below.

* Communication is key at City Meet. Coach Mackenzie has made a Group Me, which is like an easier to use group text, to help better communicate at the meet with getting across the most up to date information and stuff like what event it is going on. If you still needed to be added to it, please reach out to a coach or team rep.
* If it is your first year on the team, we usually do dress up days for City Meet to help show off our team spirit. Friday will be Tacky Tourist day. Saturday will be Tye Dye day. Sunday will be green out day. We hope to see you all dressed up.
* As stated earlier, our end of the year party will be Monday July 13th at 6:00 PM. There will be food, swimming, games, awards, a slideshow, and a movie. We will be watching the Disney movie Teen Beach Movie which is rated G. I have linked the trailer to the movie below. If you have any pictures that you would like to be included in the end of the year slide show, please send them Coach Kaden's way at (209) 659-3801. The team will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelon, cake, and drinks. We ask that Breaker families bring sides like fruit, salad, or chips to help out at the party. You can sign up at the linked document below. Also please reach out to Coach Kaden if you would like to participate in the Coaches vs. Parents vs Swimmers relay at the end of the year party.
We only have a few more days left of the 2026 swim season, so lets have fun and finish with a slam! If you have any questions please reach out to the coaches or team reps.
As always,
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BREAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
