Champ meet updates

Coaches Lauren and Maddie will be team building and tie dyeing t shirts with all champ meet swimmers tomorrow AFTER practice.  Please let me know if your swimmer cannot stay to tie dye and we will have the coaches do it for them.  

Warm up time on is 4:30 on friday and 8:15-8:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

Please take a moment to review the bylaws for the meet more importantly the expectations for parents while working.  Please note we have been assigned a timing chair all weekend.  

Shifts will be as follows: Let me know what shift you would like to work.  We have 11 families participating and 11 timing shifts.

Below is the message from the director

Director’s Message

Swimmers, parents and volunteers, thank you again for your participation. We cannot run this event without the help of ALL OF YOU!

This year we have a total of 782 swimmers, 3,119 entries, and upwards

of 3,000 attendees. It is again a pleasure to serve as the meet director. We hope you enjoy the weekend.

Our timeline for the meet this year will be:

Friday:

  • Team Set-up at 12:00 noon
  • Warms-ups begin at 4:30pm
  • Stroke and Turn- meet by the announcer’s table at 5:30pm
  • Marshalls/timers, head timer/judge and runners-meet at the announcer’s table at 5:40pm
  • Timers please report behind the blocks at 5:30pm
  • Half lapper swimmers-Coaches, please have all swimmers ready by 5:40pm on the grass southwest of the pool under the tents. Each team will be responsible to stage their own team swimmers to the appointed heat and lane. Participation ribbons will be awarded to the swimmers at the end of their race
  • National Anthem 5:45pm
  • Half Lappers swim immediately following the National Anthem
  • Meet starts at 6:00pm
  • Meet finish at 8:00pm

Saturday and Sunday:

  • Warm-ups begin at 7:00am
  • Stroke and Turn Judges- meet at the announcer’s table at 8:30am
  • Marshalls, timers, head timer/judge & runners-meet at announcer’s table at 8:40am
  • National Anthem 8:55am
  • Meet starts at 9:00am
  • Saturday meet finish, 2:00pm
  • Sunday, including relays, parent/coach relays and awards, 3:00pm

About the Breakers

Welcome to the Brookside Breakers webpage! Here you can see what is happening with your local neighborhood swim team! The Breakers are the neighborhood swim team for the Brookside West community in Stockton, California. The Brookside Breakers Swim team was established over 34 years ago and is a local non-profit swim club with approximately 80-90 swimmers ages 5-18. The Brookside Breakers swim team teaches the sport of swimming in a fun environment while encouraging a competitive attitude at each swimmer's own pace. The development of positive attitudes, healthy bodies, disciplined minds and enduring friendships are among the many rewards the Brookside Breakers Swim team has to offer.
